Privacy Policy

infocard is operated by Tara Loka, LLC. We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. This policy explains what data we process, what we don't, and how you stay in control.

What we collect

Profile data (from GitHub)

When someone visits a profile page (/~username), we fetch the infocard.md file from that user's public GitHub repository. We parse the YAML frontmatter (name, title, location, tags, availability, summary) and store it in a search index so profiles can be found by recruiters.

This data is already public on GitHub. We don't collect anything the user hasn't published themselves. We don't scrape profiles — the index grows only when a profile page is visited.

AI tag extraction

We use Cloudflare Workers AI to automatically detect skill and technology tags from resume text. This processing happens entirely on Cloudflare's infrastructure — your resume text is never sent to third parties. AI-generated tags are stored alongside user-provided tags in our search index.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic traffic insights. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual visitors. All data is aggregated. No analytics data is sold or shared.

What we don't collect

• No accounts — we don't ask for your email, password, or any identity information
• No cookies — we don't set any cookies (theme preference uses localStorage, which never leaves your browser)
• No tracking — no fingerprinting, no ad networks, no third-party trackers
• No payment data — infocard is free

Where data is stored

Profile data is cached on Cloudflare's global edge network (KV for cached pages, D1 for the search index). Cloudflare's infrastructure is distributed across 300+ cities worldwide. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details on their data handling.

How to remove your data

You own your data. To remove your profile from infocard:

1. Delete or rename your infocard repo on GitHub (or remove the infocard.md file)
2. Your cached profile expires automatically within 5 minutes
3. Your search index entry will be replaced the next time someone visits your profile URL (which will now show a 404)

If you want your search index entry removed immediately, contact us and we'll delete it manually.

Children's privacy

infocard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
