About

I am a React/Frontend developer with more than 5 years of professional experience. At Sparq, I worked from January 2019 through October 2024, where I collaborated with Sparq and client colleagues. This collaboration spanned project managers, stakeholders, QA/QC, and many frontend and backend colleagues. During my time at Sparq, I was also promoted from Associate Web Developer to Web Developer.

Since my position at Sparq ended in October 2024, I have made a focused effort to learn as much as possible to become a fullstack web developer while looking for my next role. In doing so, I have picked up the following skills at an elementary level:

  • Next.js
  • Redux Toolkit
  • RTK Query
  • Appwrite.io

I have used these skills in my side projects as well. In addition, I am learning Node.js on Udemy and recently attended the OKCoders Pro Python Bootcamp, which was held in November/December of 2025. For more details about my projects, learning, or my background/qualifications, please visit my website. Last but not least, I have also used AI in my development workflow, mainly to assist with coding, problem-solving, and exploring implementation approaches. I still continue to write, review, and own all code myself.

I am open to work and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to talk more about my background and qualifications.

Associate Frontend Developer - Sparq

Jan 2019 – Dec 2022

  • Collaborated with colleagues across four internal teams to deliver features, enhancements, and bug fixes for a large automotive client’s online marketplace
  • Rebuilt a client’s spend-management application using React, TypeScript, and Styled Components, collaborating closely with the client’s IT team in Belfast, Ireland
  • Optimized the application to reduce load times by up to 50% by removing large, unused assets and improving frontend performance
  • Implemented complex data visualizations and tabular UIs using amCharts 4 and AG Grid, enhancing usability for enterprise-scale datasets
  • Adopted Storybook to build and test components in isolation, improving development speed and consistency
  • Integrated backend APIs and handled JSON payloads within frontend components
  • Wrote automated E2E tests in Cypress and unit tests with Jest, Enzyme, and React Testing Library, ensuring code reliability

Professional Development and Learning

Oct 2024 – Present

  • Expanding backend web knowledge by learning Node.js, Next.js, and adding RTK Query to my skillset
  • Built a mock room-booking application using Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and Appwrite.io, focusing on component architecture, routing, and API-driven workflows
  • Implemented RTK Query in a React app to efficiently fetch and cache data from an external API
  • Completed a Python bootcamp (OKCoders Pro) to strengthen programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills
